Veneers

Wanting to improve your smile is simple with dental veneers. Veneers are a less intrusive option then crowns and braces and look natural.  They are a thin porcelain covering placed over the front part of the tooth. Veneers can be used for a variety of dental concerns:

Porcelain Veneers

A porcelain veneer is a thin shell that is made to custom fit on to the tooth. They are long lasting, natural looking surface of the tooth. Less enamel is removed from the tooth versus what is needed for a crown, and they are not as easily stained.

Cost

This is one of the more common materials used and can last anywhere from 10-20 years. Insurance doesn’t normally cover this procedure since it is considered cosmetic, pricing ranges $1200-$2000 per tooth.

Caring for Veneers

Brushing and flossing daily as you would your regular teeth. Proper brushing and the use of fluoridated toothpaste.  Consider limiting acidic foods and other staining liquids like coffee or red wines.

Remember veneers like crowns will need to be replaced no matter how well you care for them. But properly caring for them will help to extend the life of the veneer.

If you are considering veneers, please call the office to schedule a consultation or speak with the Doctor at your next hygiene visit.
