A crown is a restoration that covers a single, damaged tooth that has been severely decayed or fractured. Dental bridges are restorations that replace missing teeth, and are bonded over two supporting teeth to “bridge” a false crown between them.
Do I have a cavity?
You may never know that you have a cavity until we take an x-ray and have Dr. Bell inspect the image. However, some symptoms of tooth decay can include sensitivity, rough edges along the tooth, and food packing between the teeth.
How do I know if I am a candidate for teeth whitening?
You will want to be free of tooth decay and [gum disease] before starting a whitening program. Dr. Bell can quickly and easily screen for these conditions as well as let you know what types of results to expect from your preferred whitening method.
What are veneers?
Dental veneers are thin shells of porcelain that Dr. Bell bonds to the front of your teeth to change the way your smile looks. Veneers can make teeth look straighter, whiter, and perfect in as few as two trips to our Alexandria office!
Are digital x-rays safe?
Our digital dental x-rays use extremely low amounts of radiation, making them even safer than conventional x-rays. Dr. Bell uses these high definition digital images to enhance the way we explain your dental care during the exam process.
How long have you been a dentist?
Dr. Bell has been a dentist since 1987. He’s seen and lived modern dentistry as it has transformed from the early 1980s into the advanced services that it is in 21st century. Dr. Bell is one of Alexandria’s most experienced dentists.
Do you take emergency patients?
Yes. We allot specific times throughout our day to accommodate emergency dental patients in an efficient manner. Dr. Bell’s goal is to help you alleviate any pain and discomfort as quickly as possible. In true emergencies, existing patients can call our office after hours to reach a member of our staff through our on call system.
What are dental implants?
Implants are prosthetic replacement tooth roots that are placed into the jawbone. Dr. Bell then places a permanent implant restoration such as a crown, bridge, or denture on top of the implant for functional and aesthetic purposes.
