We welcome complex needs! Experience truly transformative dentistry with full-mouth rehab services

Led by 30-year industry veteran Dr. Alonzo Bell, The Bell Dental Group has developed an exceptional reputation for high-quality cosmetic and restorative dentistry in Alexandria, Virginia, and the greater Beltway. No “case” is too complex or challenging for Dr. Bell. In fact, he partners with a leading specialist to ensure the success of replacement teeth that are supported by implants. Our implantologist precisely places each implant during a straightforward surgical procedure. Once these implants have healed or joined to the surrounding bone, Dr. Bell steps in with restorations or prosthetics that look, feel, and function like the “real deal.”

Full mouth restoration broadly refers to rebuilding or replacing all of the decayed, worn, or missing teeth in your smile. It may involve using prosthetics such as dental implants to replace failing or missing teeth. Or, at least part of the treatment plan may include preserving damaged, broken, unsightly, or otherwise traumatized teeth with restorative procedures such as fillings, inlays, onlays, crowns, and root canal therapy.

Treatment will start with a full-mouth evaluation. Dr. Bell will examine your teeth, gums, and mouth by sight. He also uses advanced diagnostics, such as digital x-rays, to “see” what cannot be detected upon visual inspection alone. He also consults with patients to better understand their lifestyle, behaviors, time, personal preferences, goals, budget, and other factors that could affect the treatment plan. Treatment planning includes determining the best services or procedures to rehabilitate and restore your mouth. Furthermore, it involves prioritizing the most critical services and developing a schedule or timeframe to complete these treatments.

Additional factors that must be considered when embarking on treatments of considerable size and scope include:

  • How many teeth are still present in the mouth
  • The overall quality of the condition of those existing teeth
  • The density and health of the supportive bone in the jaws
  • The aesthetics and general state of the supporting soft tissues, such as the gums

As indicated, your mouth is so much more than the teeth. Dr. Bell accounts for the other tissues and structures surrounding and protecting the teeth. Depending on what he finds, Dr. Bell may also recommend regenerative treatments to rebuild the gums or hard tissues such as the bone. Additionally, some gingival techniques are both cosmetic and restorative in nature. They may involve recontouring or repositioning recessed tissues. Gum recession may occur over time and as the result of disease. As gums recede, more of the tooth is exposed. This gives patients’ smiles a “long in the tooth” appearance. Furthermore, root exposure can make the tooth vulnerable to irreparable damage from progressive dental decay.

There is certain to be an option available at The Bell Dental Group, regardless of the nature or extent of your needs. Contact us today at (703) 783-4557 to start the process. Restore your smile and transform your life!
